Has anyone done a time lapse movie made of several pictures of a plant blooming? We have one of these that is starting 10 or so blooms similar to this one, my thought is that from start to finish this is about 2 weeks maximum time---to set up a tripod with a camera focused on the bloom which would be held in place somehow so the focus/angle ect doesn't change and take several pictures per day to see the progression in a movie after it was all over--starting from the very first indication of a bloom forming to it drying up and falling off.

I am looking for hints/advice/tips to make this work.

Thanks
Dan

P.S These two pics are and actual 24 hour transformation that I am trying to capture with this process.

Time lapse over such a long period of time is going to be a challenge. You'll need to control the light - maybe a translucent tent over the flowers? No good in a sequence if some shots are in the sun and some on cloudy days. You'll need to control any movement of the flower buds. Perhaps some out of frame support? But, the buds will indeed be changing size as the open which brings up focus and DOF issues. Perhaps shoot at f/11?
