Hi
I got this IXUS last year but I'm not a computer/digital person so somehow I put Movie when I really want still image. Is there any chance to move these shoots to still images? Any help would be good for me!

You can take snapshots of the movie in Windows Moviemaker if you're using a Windows machine. They won't be very large photos though.

Yep. That's about it - your movies are at 640x480 pixels; you could get passable 3x5 prints out of "frame grabs" (as they're called) but not much more, I'm afraid. You might want to tape the switch in place. I know my wife's always accidentally sliding the switch on her SD600 to "Movie" instead of ""Still". So we have a most interesting series of clips of the paths around the Pyramids of Giza among others . . . :{)#

This has happened to me before, and Cre@te answered it for you. About all you can do it a frame grab and maybe get a small print from that. Video stills from compact cameras are generally not very good quality though.

Try Movie Maker? I've found that easiest for frame grabbing (taking still pictures from your video)

A "frame grab" is basically where you freeze the movie on a certain frame, then "grab" that frame and save it as a still image. Once you've saved it as a a still you can post-process it, print it, etc.

I use Windows XP, so here's how it would work. It should be similar if you use Windows Vista. I have no idea if you use a Mac.
- Open Windows Movie Maker (in All Programs --> Accessories)
- Import a video. It might get split into clips, that's ok.
- Play the video and pause it wherever you want to take a picture.
- Under the video display is an icon that looks like a camera. Click that and save the picture wherever you want. The default should be "My Pictures." You don't need to do anything else, or save anything else when you exit Movie Maker.
- To print it, you will need to save your files to a flash drive or CD to take it to Walmart, Costco, etc., or you can upload it directly if you're using an online printing service.
