View Full Version : First attempts at HDR, lighthouse and alligator

These pictures were taken at St Marks, on the panhandle of Florida. Please leave comments and critique, I want to learn if I can change anything.
This guy was really relaxed, I got within 4 feet and he didn't move a bone

This was 9 different exposures, the lighthouse tower shows a little bit of blur because the wind was blowing 20-30 mph

The first and last are my fav............... I am not sure I would want to be that close to a gator.....yikes! Thanks for sharing.

Maybe with an adjusted curve

Love the top one with the alligator. Looks surreal.
Not a big fan of the bottom one though. Looks like a cheap photoshop filter was applied. The colors and the blurred sky not a big fan of. But I'm sure someone will like it>

Here's a panoramic I tried also. The original plan was to do 3 AEB exposures at each angle but for some reason when I'd line them up in photoshop one would be about 1000 pixels wider than the other so I had to just use the ones most properly exposed and then make the adjustments. I used photomatix for the HDR part of the process. Again, still learning so please leave comments and suggestions.
