I got an email last week from a writer for a trade magazine. They wanted to use my photo for an article about the Hawian beef industry.

Here's the photo they're printing. I know I have posted this pic before, but I am so excited that I have to show it off again.

Now that someone has noticed my photos, the wheels start turning in my head. How can I make money from this hobby?? :D :D

Congratulations, Dave. Of course, after seeing your gallery, I knew it would be possible that you sell some of your work.

Thanks everyone. This is one of my favorite photos. I have it blown up to 20x30, and it has been hanging in my kitchen for a year. I saw this scene while driving a back road on the big island of hawaii and I knew there had to be a good shot. I pulled the car off the road and sat in the wet grass for 20 mintutes taking cow pictures. The pasture was in a sunlit break in the rain colds. I used flash so I could go in manual mode and slightly underexpose the background. That's why the clouds look dark blue. The flash also accented a lot of details in the cows fur.

I can't take all the credit for this photo. I used my Sigma 70-200. That lens will not take a bad picture   .

Way to go Dave!
If they pay you in beef, get it all in 1.5" T-bones and we will have a heck of a BBQ:):):):):):):):)
