I finally got a flash trigger so I took a couple shot today with my son. How is the lighting? How to I make the background totally black without seeing wrinkles?? I see it done all the time. CC appreciated. Thanks!!

Nice pic, great smiles! Try moving yourself farther form the background, it will be less in focus and therefore you won't notice the texture as much.

I would suggest a reflector on the left side as well.

use a black board painted black and not a cloth

I get rid of the wrinkles in Photoshop by adjusting the sliders in 'Levels'- making the blacks blacker and brightening the midtones a bit gets rid of them completely... but that is probably the lazy way to do it!

Really great especially considering it's a self portrait. Just fix up the wrinkles in the background & it would be even better!

Thanks. I will try to work on the background tonight and I am definetely in the market for a reflector.
