Thanks all. It's gettin hot there so I won't be going back until October. Except for some VERY early morning summer runs that is. That will be a great time to get some nice dune shots without ANY tracks. I'll be sure to post them up when I get those.

Good shots but I think a slower shutter speed would give you more of a sense of action/speed. If you go 1/320 or 1/400 you will get some wheel motion blurr and a little background blurr.

I see what your saying, but I always prefer shooting faster shutter speeds in sand to capture each ripple of sand from the paddle tires. ;) Thanks

I take it you've never ridden in the sand before....nothing really abrasive to tear the skin off your hands if you do crash.....Its actually pretty soft....#7....See that all the time. Not really bad if your putting around the dunes when its hot out. If you're gonna go out and tear it up at least a t shirt and chest protector.....

Thanks guys.:)

Yeah the place is an absolute blast. A guy from our site put together a pretty nice video from that weekend if you want to see the bikes in action. There was some fast stuff there that weekend. http://vimeo.com/4231191

Just like the last batch of pics you posted, I now miss Dumont, again. Thanksgiving every year for us, until about 4 years ago when we moved out east. Looks like the "big hill" is still alive and kicking. Glad to see the CA government hasn't closed it down yet like Pismo and Glamis.

Good shots, I personally like the look of the sand behind the paddles.

Thanks.

These pics were taken at Banshee Hill (the hill on the left as you are going to comp hill). That hill has grown quite a bit in the last few years. Comp hill is still kickin prety good and is always popular, but all the hillshooters choose Banshee Hill now.

Only parts of Pismo & Glamis have been closed, but it's hasn't been because of the government. It's the damn CBD (Center for Biological Diversity) that files lawsuits. Pismo is under heavy threat now as of a new lawsuit that was filed a couple days ago! :( Hopefully they will be defeated this time around. I still would love to check that place out. Haven't had the chance to go there yet.

Dumont is still somewhat in the safe zone (thank god). Every time I ride there I still appreciate it and act like it is my last time there. :)
