New 50mm f/1.4

My 50mm f/1.4 arrived today!!!! :) But it's pouring down rain and foggy out!! :( Not great for outdoor fun. But I just had to test it anyway.

I tried a simple panorama of the local mud flats. Didn't want to be out too long because it was bucketing. From these initial shots I think I'll be very happy. I also did a focus test, and it's spot on at f/1.4. The depth of field is 15 to 18 mm at f/1.4 at about 2 feet. Wow!!!

Hopefully tomorrow brings better weather.

Center left is a white house. Here's the 100% crop. Keep in mind the house is about 0.75 mile away and it's raining.

Seems good to me! Pretty sharp on that house picture if I do say so myself!

I was going to get me the 50mm 1.8 but guess what?! My hard drive decided to crap out on me. So now I must spend those 70 bucks on a new HD. =(
