Hey guys,

So of topic, However in two weeks i will be going on Parental Leave. My wife will be taking 2 weeks holidays so we will be off together and i hope to have lots of photo opportunities.

However she is really going to miss Abby when she goes back to work and of course i could do the norm and send her pictures daily to help reduce how much she misses her, however i want to put up a private link on my website with a live video feed. I know it can be done and should not be too difficult i just need a starting point to finding out how, If anyone has one running now i would love to hear it.

My plan is to pick up a IP webcam such as the Dlink one listed HERE (http://www.canadacomputers.com/index.php?do=ShowProduct&cmd=pd&pid=009621&cid=930.832.998)

Now it says that it can be logged in from just using IE, however i don't know what restrictions she will have when she gets back to work, so i am looking for other soultions and figured a direct feed to my website should work well. This way i can mount it in the babies room and she can jump in and watch her nap time, bath time and all that good stuff.

Anyone got any experience? or anything to share?

thanks.

There are a number of possibilities here. I would definately check that one out that you looked at. If you can buy it and maybe try it out that would help. Another option is skype. It has that abilitly to stream live video.

If you plan to host it on your own website, then there shouldn't be much of a problem with acccess to it I would imagine. I would definately try accessing your site from the location and if it works you will be good to go.
