I own two cameras - the SD630 and SD600 both of which are broken due to my clumsiness.

The SD600 was in my apron pocket and fell from around 3 feet to the kitchen floor. It doesn't turn on anymore.

The SD630 was a similar case when I dropped it in a nightclub from around 3 feet off the ground. It doesn't turn on anymore either.

Both cameras I've tried using a full battery to see if it's a battery issue but it still won't turn on. I'm thinking it's something internal. Does anyone have the same problem? Or any solutions as to how to fix it? Please help!!! :D

Ebay them and get some new ones? I don't know - they're not exactly easy to fix, and if they won't turn on it's not a small or specific problem...

Do they make any noise when you try to turn them on? Any lights come on or anything? Tried pushing the battery compartment door firmly closed and turning the camera on while holding it there? (There's a micro-switch which turns the camera off if the battery compartment is opened.)

Hi Jon,

There are no noises, no lights come on and I've tried pushing the battery compartment in. Any other suggestions?

That's about all you'll be able to do without getting into a major disassembly. You might try opening the battery compartment door and seeing if you can manually depress the switch (with a toothpick, say) with any better results.
