Hi, Just wondering why I feel this way. I got my XT(w/Kit lens) and have really enjoyed it for a few weeks now, Got a Canon 28-80 lens off ebay and taken some "good pics" compared to the point and shoot days. I put the kit lens back on last night for a little while and I dont think its as sharp of clean as the 28-80. Is it me? How do these 2 compare?, I dont know much but so far I feel better with the later one.
Also as I am going on a trip to the grand canyon and Vegas I am wondering what Lenses to buy to be best prepared for the Vacation. I was considering the PKG with a 75 to 300 and BG e1 and then found out that I need BGe3 and I dont see any pkg for that around. I was also considering the 50/1.8 for wide at the canyon?
Any suggestions will be much appreciated, Thanx, Ron

The lens you bought was probably a kit lens off of a Canon film camera and/or an older lens. The kit lens that came with your XT gives you a wide angle zoom for a very cheap price and performs very well for the price.

You're not imagining things-i have compared them in the past and found the cheapo 28-80's to be slightly better overall.
In my opinion the kit lens is so bad to be of little use while the 28-80 at least does get *some* good pics occasionally.

Of course if you NEED a wide lens and can't afford much then the 18-55 looks pretty good, lol
That's the only reason i keep mine;)
