Just installed the radio trigger inside my Sekonic L-358, but it is not triggering my TT5 (mounted on strobe WL 1600). They are both set on channel 2. Am I missing something? Thanks.

Also try it close to the other PW... the transmitter in the l-358 is significantly weaker than the normal ones

im guessing you are having the same issue with yours as i had with mine.

Once i got into the right mode (the 4th one along) it gets you to select your channel your PW are on, you need to hold MODE and SCROLL DOWN one click to actually get into the "ready" mode...

hope it helps. otherwise do you have the same moduel as the pocketwizards you have, there are 2 diff types the EU and US version.

I can see the fourth mode, and able to scroll through the channels. But despite setting both PW (TT5) and L-358 on channel 2, they are not communicating to each other. Is there a process of selecting the right channel? Thanks.

yeah thats what im talking about,
so forget your PW's at the moment we know they are on the same channel (lets say for arguments sake its channel 2),

Goto the 4th option on your light meter,
it will be blinking a channel number at you
scroll through to channel 2
then hold mode and scroll down again to actually select the channel
press fire button

Just to be sure.....are the pocket wizards and transmitter both the US version? If you have a European unit trying to communicate with a north american unit, they won't communicate.

I bought them from B&H in New York, and am assuming that they are US compliant? I have tried setting the channel, but the strobe is still not responding. Well, may be I should get an L-758?

What are the exact and complete model numbers of each device?

With that info, we can do a little digging and see if there's a possibility that you got something intended for a non-US market (one or the other of the items).

The back label on my Sekonic controller's says it is made in USA:
JQ42- 104240
RT-32FCC Module
FCC ID: PFK-RT32-01
IC: 3916A-RT3201

My TT5 was also made in the US.

I truly appreciate your help.

I finally figured it out by running the PW utility and setting the C2 configuration to the standard (as opposed to controlTX) mode. The sekonic is working now with my TT5 in manual mode (note that it does not trigger in eTTL mode).

Thanks for all your help.
