I was going to stamp my logo on the back of my images before sending them along to customers. Tried that and 3 days later the ink is still smearing. Do I need a special kind of ink? Do I need to throw the whole idea out the window?

I use stickers. Pre-stamped stickers.

I printed up some small labels w/ my logo and contact information on it and it works like a champ. It's cheap and effective.

stamps don't work, as noted by others. I too use stickers - either buy from staples and run them through the laser printer, or buy pre-printed stickers. Our local girl guides sell these quite reasonably, think they must get a discount from the printers.

Mpix does custom back printing for free which I find useful. It's limited to 25 characters but is enough to put my web address.

There is an archival quality ink called "Rexton" which does work on the back of photos. It's a bit touchy, but dries in seconds and will not smear.

How do you add that?!? Can you add that when ordering through your zenfolio site?

I don't use Zenfolio. Mpix is the lab I use.
When you checkout through Mpix there is an option to type your own text.
It's not for my customers, just for me to put my web address on it for advertising and to help prevent copyright infringement.

I think the brand name is "Stayz-On" I also have wondered about this but have yet to buy/try this ink.

Could be sold that way, but my bottle says "Rexton" as the brand name on it. It's specifically for photographic paper "...provides smudge-proof acid-free rubber stamp images on all resin-coated photographic papers..."

Interesting thread.
I've often been interested in a "custom" packaging with a logo/stamp/sticker as well!

I have custom stickers made at WHCC and I use Tyndell Photographic Supplies for custom boxes, bags, wallet containers, etc.
I have been very happy with this combination.

Do you have a photo of the back of one of your photos? I have been thinking about going with MPIX but im not sure of the quality or how the backing would look.

If you are still looking for a stamp for pictures. I got mine a a local stamp company. The ink is kind of a pain but it works.
