basically wanting to know if the focus seems clear on what im shooting and if any differences in sharpness since they were taken with different lenses

Sharpness in the focused areas looks pretty good to me... but there's no way we can compare lenses from images resized to 0.4 megapixels - almost anything will look fine. You're shooting with a 15 megapixel camera... obviously it'd be great if you were realising most of that resolution... to find out if you are, you'd best show us a cropped section that hasn't been resized (a "100%" sample) from the focused areas (e.g. the dog's right eye; as for the tail light - it's a fiddly thing to use for a focus check, as there are transparent and translucent areas and reflections). Cheers, Tony

I agree with tonydee about the size, but as for the way the pictures look as you posted them, I would say the second one looks alot sharper than the one of the dog.

The second one is definately way sharper that the dog shot. But as everyone said, it could be due to the size of the pictures on here. If you could later on post a link to a full resolution shot.

Don't think you're right... there are reasonably contrasted single pixel points near the dog's right eye (on our left)... suggesting it's as sharp as you can differentiate at that image size. What is true is that very little of the dog is sharp - the DOF makes it much harder to find. Cheers, Tony
