Spur of the moment cricket shoot on a quiet Sunday afternoon! Never shot cricket before, was fun but realised a really need a 400mm lens ASAP to cover it properly.

cricket can be very difficult to make look interesting - patience, reasonable light and a pretty long lens are the main things that are needed. I think these are good - photo 2 & 5 are very good

Yes, actually--even though it doesn't require that you learn to gob out a steady stream of tobacco juice, or to wear large padded gloves when you're trying to catch a solid projectile coming straight at you off the bat at 90 m.p.h. or so) :D

I got a half decent picture of Jonty Rhodes with my old camera when he was playing for Gloucestershire a few years ago. I sent it into his personal website (which is not online anymore) and it was published alongside the famous one of him on his SA debut diving arms first into the stumps to run out an Indian (or Pakistani) batsman.

I was quite proud of that!

this isn't the pic BTW, I can't find it!

Nice shots of Crickey!

I've shot an international match before between Australia and NZ, but I was a spectator, fixed in one location. Couldn't get the interesting shots like yourself.
