Good shots certainly. So if I understand correctly you have just removed the front element of both these lenses to get closer focusing ?

The answer is Y-E-S, as simple as that! Removing the front element in the Canon EF 38-76 is really simple cause the front element is attached to the "body" of the lense with three screws that are hidden behind the sticker with the information of the lense (yes, believe it or not it is a sticker…). On the EFs 18-55 the situation is different (no sticker/screws in here...) I used a hand saw (yes, a hand saw)
I think it would be good to attach a filter (somehow…) to the front of this lenses to prevent dust from getting inside of the lense and then to our camera sensor.
