Will this lens work for me? please give advice.

I'm wanting to get a lens for outdoors. This will be used for my little girls soccer games. I saw this at Sams " Sigma 55-200 mm f4-5.6 dc canon mount $138.84" Will work for me since I'm on a tight budget? I have a Canon 300d. If you don't think it would do, Please give me my next best option.

The lens has fairly wide zoom range (which is good for sideline shooting). 200mm will bring most things in close enough except perhaps from the far ends of the field.

f/4.5 - 5.6 will only be good for outdoor shooting. As far as whether it "will do", it's hard to say.. There are a bunch of Sigma 55-200 lense images on Pbase you can look at.. If you feel they're OK, then go for it :)
