Yesterday I went to Ian Watkins studio in Cheltenham. I needed a studio I could shoot a car in, and his is above a garage that his friends run. So I drove up there, met the model up there, and we did a full-on shoot in the garage after they had closed and got rid of all the customers. The mechanics didn't seem to be in a rush to leave though. Odd that ;)

Once we had all the car shots we needed I used Ian studio to do a regular shoot with the same model. Ian has done a great job with the studio, and has amassed a nice collection of studio accessories and props. I think we did about 9 or 10 poses and 3 outfits, so not a small shoot.

Throughout the day Ian was great, and played assistant very well. Made the day a lot more productive being able to leave all the lighting to someone else so I could concentrate on composition and communication with the model. Plus, he's a much better lighting technician than I am!!

Well worth the money, and the extra to have Ian be a second brain, pair of eyes, pair of hands was worth it too. For me personally, and the type of shoots I do, the only thing wrong with it is the location! 2 hours 20 minutes either way in the same day, with a shoot.....I'm still tired! But that's the only thing wrong with it.

Rest assured, shots will be coming soon

Thanks Red, you are too kind. :)

Seriously, I'm sure Red got some really great shots. Was good to work with somone who welcomed ideas on lighting and direction, I think we worked well as a team.

Red was also the first photographer to be let loose in the studio since it was finished (except me of course), so I was a little worried of putting "my pet project" under the control of someone else. Didn't need to worry, everything was fine. :)

I know it is a long way, but you are welcome anytime you need to use the studio or location again.

Looking forward to seeing your processed images.

Cheers

Ian
