Here is a conundrum...
I snapped some shots this weekend with my 20D, and I decided to protect them on camera to prevent them from being deleted by anyone.
I downloaded the files to my computer, and opened in Photoshop CS with Adobe Camera Raw 2.4.
I was sorting thru them in the Adobe File Browser, and I tried to delete some I didnt want. Well, it won't let me, and I notice that the protected files have a "lock" symbol beside the thumbs in the browser, and "delete" is not an option.
I searched high and low in Photoshop for a way to change the "protect" attribute of the Raw files, but I found nothing!
I know I can easily delete the files in windows explorer, but does anybody know of a way to change this attribute in Camera Raw?

I think I remember reading that you need to unprotect them on the card before moving them onto your computer. Then they don't show up as locked in PS. Other than that,I don't know how to change the lock once it's there.

If all you want to do is unprotect the file without deleting it, you can always use EVU to do that.

Thanks guys.
That blows :(
I only use Photoshop, and I didnt install EVU or any other software since I dont need it.
Hmm, I do have Breezebrowser installed (mainly for proofing jpgs). Maybe I will give that a try.

I've never tried protecting a file before, but I imagine that the "read only" attribute has been set by the operation system. Try right clicking in Windows explorer, chose properties, and uncheck that attribute. Should work.

Haha Bodog, you are right! ;)
Sometimes the solution is staring you right in the face and you don't even see it :o

Thanks again.

Ah sorry, I could have told you that, but I assumed you'd tried that already! I have DIM write protect all my files when it copies them from the card, so I have to manually make them read only to delete them from CS.
