Windows 7 isn't releasing yet. It is only RC1.
If you manage to get the RC1 image, you just download it, burn it, boot it.

Enjoy your new 580EXII Nic. I've hade mine for awhile but I haven't made much use of it. My experiences with ETTL have been fairly subpar...

Oh, so you don't even have to buy it? Or does it mean you had to have the beta version?

Apparently it will be release as a retail version near the end of the year.

Interrupt the Geek talk.............................................. .....................

has anyone heard from :JOHN: at all lately, or maybe Dave Robo might be up to it if he isn't playing or recording his cool music.

It would be handy to have a Parliament House or Canberra based photog for a fund-raiser I am participating in on Wednesday 6th May

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=454008&page=6

Basically, its an adventure motor bike relay across 3 states to raise funds for cancer research and treatment. On Wednesday we hit Canberra and meet Senator Kay Lundy on the steps of Parliament House.
If not I will just do it "myspace" style with a long arm so the whole group is in the shot!;)

What?! Yesterday afternoon's sunset was awesome! And I only had my iPhone... :(

I was sitting in the Botanic Gardens, watching wedding 'togs shoot brides and grooms, with the sunset over the Harbour Bridge and Opera House...it was such a nice afternoon.

Then it started raining...

Anyway, here's a crappy iPhone photo so you know i'm not lying.

I can't wait for whatever work they are doing on the bridge is finished and they get the lights on the north side working properly so I can get out and take some decent shots of it again.

From my understanding, you don't need to be in the beta to get the RC. End of this year sounds about right. OSX 10.6 hopefully in June at WWDC :)

You'll need to reinstall to revert back to whatever OS you want to use. That is why it is a RC, gives you an oppurtunity to try the OS.

Maybe I shouldn't bother with the whole Vista thing, and just get this...

Interesting, may get dad to grab it from MSDN and chuck it on the server to see how the RC runs over the beta we have at the moment.

Still holding out for Snow Leopard, but i think Im going to grab an old hard drive and check out ubuntu 9.04, think it came out a little over a week ago.

Lol, nice work there ;) What's the file size of the ISO?

Breaking away from the OS talk for a second, I was wondering if anyone knew of any software/places that could help me make one of those pictures made up of lots of little photos..

I ask because I'm leaving cadets soon (end of the month), and like many before me, I want to give a gift to the squadron. Seeing as I've taken 1000's of photos at cadets, I wanted to use some of them to make said multi-photo image. Something in the form of a simplified Squadron logo:

Nah, I'll probably get another two this week or next week. I charged my Canon one (the other is an aftermarket one, not sure of the brand) and I was just shooting around the house and it's already on low and flashing. The other one is much better and I don't think I'll try staying with just the 2 for very long.

I was considering getting a couple of 2GB cards as well but I didn't think it was worth it in the end. I've got 2 4GB's formatted with a computer rather than in-camera but I'm still not sure if I actually have 4GB of space or not. I've read FAT16's limit is 2GB but everyone always says if you format it out of the camera, you'll get the full capacity.

With sunrises and sunsets, I've always found it hard balancing out the shadows without destroying the quality of the different colour shades.

I'm thinking that rather than taking the picture towards the setting sun, it might be a better idea to have the sun out of frame or even behind the camera and get the light off any clouds in that direction.

Have you noticed how sunsets never compare well with sunrises for colour?

Depends on the time of year. Both sunrises and sunsets go through phases of bland. Get either on the right day, and it's always stunning.

Is this not a good thing? From my way of thinking, and please correct me if I am wrong in this assumption, if someone steals an image from you and posts it in their Flickr account, if you dispute it in court, you can provide your original file with the Exif information intact while they are stuck with an image stripped of the vital information that would prove their alleged ownership.

Nice foggy sunrise Dave, really do have to go over there for a look one day. Especially since it is so close.

Yeah it's just down the road for you - so you'd not have to get up anywhere near as early as I did to be there at sunrise.

And ugh! Friggen red stuck pixel on my 2 day old screen. Pretty sure they wont take it back unless there are more but its annoying.

Bummer :(

Paul Buff spits the dummy in relation to people calling him out on his history of delayed releases, etc.

I'd love some of the new ABMax gear, and I appreciate the AB cost/benefit ratio, and the bloke defending AB by calling the doubters "haters" is a moron, but PCB does himself no favours here by just going "I quit".

Stripping EXIF is never a good thing. And no, it wouldn't help you if your images were stolen either, any more than them having images with intact EXIF showing you as the owner.

And while we're in a solar tax mode... Here's yesterday's sunrise on Oxley Creek Commons.

That depends on what you define as normal.

Give me a fair price on your 5d, and take that off my 5d II price, thus leaving what you would owe me in cash. :p

No, I think you should air it all our here... :p

:D:D

Didn't I already buy a 1Ds2 from you brenno?

What's happened in the meantime?

You did indeed Luke. I trust it is serving you well.

Ok, hang onto your pants here - sold you my 1ds II and sold Clarence my 5d, then I bought a 1ds III and a 1ds II, sold the 1ds III and bought two 5d II's and kept the 1ds II, now selling either a BNIB 5d II or the 1ds II.

Whoah, what's happening here - I'M TURNING INTO ANGUS!!! ARGHHHHHH... :p

How long did all of that take you and WHY?! :p

Kristin, I'm not sure if you're online still but did you work something out with your Fastpack 250 to fit two bodies? Right now, this is my setup for the gear bit:

Hopefully that worked out well enough...

Mic, Mic, Mic...

You earn it to spend it mate.

I'll even hand deliver to you - and if you like, I can borrow one of Collin's mankini's to wear at the changeover. :p

Yeah, that's gonna seal the deal :-)

I really need to spend the money on a house. My wife thinks that's a higher priority, and I tend to agree :-)

Well, and a 16-35. Anyone selling a 16-35?

I think around 6 - 8 months or so??

I do love to have the latest and greatest gadgets, I'm the first to admit it, and I'm not the only one who does. I think most here would faint at the sight of my previously owned gear, no sh1t. :o

Wifey and I have been doing a bit to our house in preparations for moving into a bigger and better place and hopefully renting this place out. We are almost there.

I love to have the newest things too but as a 17 year old working casual shifts, it's impossible  That's pretty cool. If you don't mind me asking, how old be you?

Is it too late to put a smile on Kristins face? Some quick snaps I took around 7:30am today when the Cockatoos decided to flock and feast on my neighbours garden. A cery good reason why I don't have plants.
