Ive been thinking of getting one, but am concerned whether the flash head inside the o will get the signal from the mater flash? I don't use PW's or radio poppers, I rely on the IR from th flah. Does the softbox material keep the flash inside it from being triggered, do you need to use a radio popper or PW instead?

If you're close enough to it, it'll trigger just fine. If you're outdoors though, it's going to be a hit and miss thing.

Just my opinion, for the price it's a good softbox but I hate it. Very hard to maneuver down (you have to open the bottom in order to reach the bracket).

I first tried using my Apollo with the radio trigger, but was not successful. Bought the TT1/TT5 combination; now it works really well.

I would suspect that they don't work well with IR, but they work fine with radio. I've got at least one Apollo in every size and I use them constantly. They're the most compact when folded and the quickest to deploy--IMO the best softboxes for location work.

It is somewhat more of a hassle to make adjustments to the light, but that's why I use a system that has full radio remote control of the flash power and modeling lights.

Agreed, nice light, just a PITA to use. I recently switched over to a 24"x24" EzyBox....much easier to work with and similar light.
