Hi all,

Finally got a chance to get the camera mounted onto the scope again tonight and tried to see what I could get around the Omega Centauri area (great for us southerners).
Well I got 3 good shot as the clouds rolled in not long after I started to run off a bunch of shots. So here is a widefield incorperating Omega Centauri (NGC5139) and a faint Centaurus A (NGC5128 )
3 x 90sec shots in total + 4 darks + 7 flats stacked in DSS. Canon 40D, 100mm macro lens @f2.8, iso1600. Piggybacked on tracking HEQ5 mount. Didn't get it polar aligned real well this time but you get that sometimes. And if it wasn't for the rain starting to fall I would have tried to get a close up shot through the scope. Ah well maybe tomorrow night.

Always great to see images from the other side of the globe...things I'll perhaps never get to see. Great to see images taken with the sort of lens I'd like to get myself one day!

Looking forward to when you get the scope set up and a bit better aligned too. ;)
