Nobody knows...many hope it's going to add manual video control.

It'd be incredible if Canon corrected there HUGE mistake and added autofocus to the video.

I think most would rather have manual control of the aperture settings vs. auto focus, but both would be awesome right? Right now all the video people using the camera love the output but have to "trick" the camera to get the settings they like.

God, I hope this firmware magically makes my 24-70 double as a 16-35.

...that or manual or aperture control in video would be nice.

Oh they will "correct" it. (It was no mistake)

With a brand-new model. Probably in a 1-series, though for me, adding video to a 1-series would be in the same ballpark as when they allowed NASCAR to race at Indy. ;)

There's some things you should not do, no matter how cool they seem.

What I meant was, I hope Canon corrects their huge mistake with the auto focus since it isn't continuously on (unlike a camcorder, and that focus is so slow that you wouldn't want to use it.

I agree, it's the same old trick with manufacturers. They give you a taste of the future, but it just leaves you wanting more.

The autofocus mechanism must operate with the mirror down, so with the current engineering in the 5D II, there's no way that fast AF can work with video. Canon is supposedly working on a new AF system that has a system of mirrors that can allow fast AF and video, but I can't remember where I saw that info.
