lets say using 100iso and the camera is set to 1/250th f8 if i then dial in +1 F stop compensation were does the camera take it from the shutter speed or apeture or both or does it up the iso value ?
thanks

Depends on the mode you are shooting in. In AV mode, your aperture setting is fixed, and any compensation you dial in changes shutter speed. In TV mode the shutter speed is fixed and any compensation changes the aperture. I still haven't figured out the exposure bias in "P" mode. Sometimes both will change, sometimes one or the other. Anybody else know?

AFAIK, in "P" mode if you change the aperture with the main dial before adjusting the exposure compensation, the aperture will remain the same and the shutter speed will change. If you do not change the aperture first via the main dial, I believe it picks a happy middle ground of aperture and shutter speed, based on focal length (i.e., it tries to keep the shutter speed as the reciprocal of the focal length or faster)
