View Full Version : Thing I saw besides stones in Enchanted Rock

Today's hiking at Enchanted Rock is the biggest hike for me in my life. I had a blast! Saw alot of plants, flowers, butterflies, bugs, lizards, spiders, birds........
Took shots of each but not the birds & butterflies because I don't have any telephoto lens. :cry:

Don't know what #1 is called. #2 is milkweed?

Extremely sloooowwwww moving ants. They need some coffee.

Is that a brown recluse? Nice pics, I like natures contrast between cactus and flowers.

Thanks for the kind words.
The little guy in the pic does fit the profile of a brown recluse. However, the mark on its cephalothorax wasn't clear in the pic. If it has an hourglass-shaped mark on the cephalothorax, then it is very likely to be a brown recluse.

Nice shots! Spider gives me the creeps tho lol We have a spider here in Oz that looks similar to that, (called a Huntsman), but its bigger than a adults hand! Creepy!

Even tho i don't know much about spiders but they always intruque me. I definitely would like to shoot more of them.

Thistle? It does look like a giant weedy plant. But it sure is a beautiful one. :D
