I already have the 17-40 with my 10D and would love to have a film body to take full advantage of the 17mm. Could someone recommend one for me?

Get something cheap. Unless you expect to suddenly switch back to film there is no point spending a lot of money on a camera you'll only use for 5% of your photos. I was in a similar place to you and ended up just picking up a bargain basement rebel. For the amount of use it gets it does everything it needs.

There was a thread on this recently, I don't have time to find it for you, but a search should find it pretty quickly.

I've got the 10D and decided to get a film camera I could use my Canon lenses with and after searching and asking I went with the Elan 7NE.
Similar feel as the 10D, though a little lighter and I like the fact that the 17-40 is a wide angle lens again.

I would suggest not getting the eye control (7n ... same camera, no EC) because if you're using both cameras it can be a little irritating going from one to the other. Don't get me wrong ... great feature, but I never use it.

Not sure what you want to spend but there are probably less expensive 35mm cameras that may do what you want as well. The 7n goes for about $300.
