Nice pics! I was really surprised to see that you used auto mode on a lot of them. Were the reflections on the door in the second picture of the Lamborghini shoot cloned? They look like the reflections I would expect if the door were closed.

Nice pics, the LP640 shots could use some simple cloning. Some of the reflections are distracting away from nice photos.

To answer some of the questions:

Light - no lighting - all natural light in every shot. I don't yet have any lighting gear of my own...

Reflections on Lambo's door - yes - those were as shot - no cloning involved.

As for Auto mode - yeah, I'm still learning. I used to use Program mode a lot. But as of late, and you can see on some of the newer shoots like the 370Z - I'm well on my way to getting used to Manual :-)

And yes - I'd love to do some more creative shots - but I sometimes have limited time with the cars to do anything above what is done. The 997 was a bit different as my father owns it... so it's a lot simpler when you can just steal the car for hours at a time :)

Be careful not to catch your own reflection in some of the shots. Love the lighting on a lot of them, but did notice at least one the the GTR shots have you and the tripod in the reflections.

I hope that did not come across as degrading or an insult, it was not my intention if it did. I was honestly surprised that they were that good using the little green box. Congrats on learning how to take more control, you will only improve from there.

That's weird that the EXIF showed Auto - can you help me find a photo this was in?

I can't recall the last time I used Auto - I do sometimes used Program mode which I guess is semi-auto :)

So how do you generally light these photos? See the link in my Sig, Jesse. I'm well on my way to getting used to Manual What you're doing works well, without knowing how much PP you have to do after. This may help with fine tuning.
Need an exposure crutch? (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=89123) I do sometimes used Program mode which I guess is semi-auto IMO, that's as "good" as the green box when you're learning. Why?
