You owe me $1870.
I just ordered a 85L because your posts have been haunting me.
I'm not happy with you. I might be when it gets here Wednesday... but right now my wife wants to choke this "Perry" guy from the Internet.

Ah yes, another victim er I mean example of the "Perry Influence" :) and why we shouldn't let this (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=675739) thread fade away quietly and quickly.
But, in all fairness to Perry, he is not alone and I for one thank him and all the others who take the time and effort to supply us with real world testing and use of gear to help influence our decisions.:)
Peace
Mark

You wont be real mad till he posts a new thread about how he sold his 85L cause it sucks and the 35L is better, or the 135L, or the 200L or the 50L etc etc ... THEN you will be mad.

I think you will find the 85L permanently mounted to your 5D MKII. The 85L was meant to go on a FF camera.

Oh, and I've taken my last exam; I don't want any more grad courses!

perry is definitely a jerk.
i cancelled my order for my 24LII because i was having second thoughts .. he made me want 85LII instead. i realised 24mm isnt worth the insane price tag as much as the 85LII.

If I bought that lens, and she got mad, I'd take a picture of her flipping out.
Just for grins.
And if Perry pays the OP, I'm next, but I want a 200L.

I tried to order it with the 50L but I'll be damned if no one has the 50L in stock (well... Adorama and B&H don't).
Why is there a run on 50L's?

I just said "screw it" and bought a 50 f/1.4 from another user here. I'll buy one later if I don't like the 1.4. I suspect it will suit my needs just fine.

This is interesting - makes me start to wonder that maybe Perry does not get any money from Canon. Why else would he be having problems with his flash? Is he ashamed to admit that he can't afford name brand batteries and has to suffer with unreliable generics such as emptyloops and nevergizers?:p
Anyway, just a thought.

ok i have never thought this lens would be THAT good. floored. focus is as expected, a bit slow but its freaking accurate. it is MUCH heavier than i thought... but whatever!

Yes, it''s crazy. It obliterates my 50L at f1.2 as well, and is my most accurate focusing lens.
