View Full Version : SD1000 draining my battery while off?

I put my fully charged battery in my SD1000 and I usually leave it in the car so if I come across something interesting, I will always have it around handy. Everything was normal for the longest while (had it for nearly 2 years) but recently, with a fully charged battery, even if I don't use my camera, it seems to just drain my battery so when I turn it on, it doesn't come on!

I bought a new battery and the same thing happened. Am I doing anything wrong? ARGGGH!

Batteries do age, even on the shelf. It's possible your "new" battery wasn't all that new. And if lithium batteries run flat, their life expectancy gets worse, unlike NiCd cells which we had to run flat.

My Sony point and shoot that's a couple years old does this as well. I take out the batteries when it's off now. Not sure what it does while off to drain it so fast.

So you guys think I should just get another batery and try again? Their not too expensive...at least the third part ones.
