Hello,

In many threads i read from users here where they're saying to set the 20 D in AI servo and leave it there. I was always thinking that AI servo was for action photografi. Now my question is: Can i set my 20 D in AI servo mode all the time and leave it that way, and use it for subjects who are standing stll? Portraits, landscape, buildings etc...
Does it focus better in AI servo mode for all photografi subjects and stiles?

Thanks.

Yes you could leave it in AI servo, but you don't get the focus lock beep, and the focus assist lamp on an external flash won't light. Maybe AI servo isn't as accurate, i'm not sure, and all I use it for it moving subjects. Like most things with photography, the answer is often "try it yourself and see what you like" :)

I use One Shot for most stay still things, and for one shot..
I use AI - Servo, for a semi one shot. When something is still but may move a bit. I will just give the camera a little jiggle, and then it will start to Constant focus on the subject, and you hear the constant little beep... Try it on cars, you will see it work.

I use AI-servo for anything moving to fast for the other two to keep track of.

One shot is used 90% of the time, with using AI-Focus if I go to the zoo..

Ai-Servo, rarely.
