Hello, is there any benefit of using 40D in macro work instead of 450D. My intention is to buy the MP-E65 amd MT-24EX.

Nor really. Actually the 450D might be a little better. It puts a few more pixels on the parget, not many, but a few more.

Agree with above. Only slight advantages a 40D might have would be a slightly bigger brighter viewfinder and more conveniant controls (esp aperture control via the large wheel on the back). Suspect the 450D has just about the optimum pixel density for 1.6 crop cameras with current technology.

sagarmatha,
Welcome to POTN :)

There is a difference if you use high ISO, a difference in weight/size, a difference in the way the camera is controlled, and of course a difference in price.
However, both will take great macro photos :)

I personally would rather have the 40D mostly because of the controls ;)

Welcome to photography-on-the.net.

For ease of use I'd get the 50D - great live view, menu system and control. If lack of Swedish currency is a consideration, I'd pick the 450D over the 40D for macro work because of the slightly higher resolution. For macro with flash, high ISO and noise is not a problem since most of the images will be at ISO 400 or less.

If you are considering nature macro work, a right angle finder is a real help for low to the ground shooting, no matter which body you purchase.
