She's currently in the emergency vet for the night because she was bitten by some sort of venomous snake in the yard today.. I brought her in as soon as I got her inside so hopefully she will recover just fine. I'm so worried.
To pass the time I edited some photos I took yesterday, plus here's a few extra for fun..

Thanks muchly everyone! Thankfully for me she's photogenic, otherwise my photos would be soo boring. The vets told me she's stable right now so I'll pick her up tomorrow morning and take her to a regular vet. Youch, this gets expensive.

Thanks for asking! She is home now, we took her to a regular vet today and she's more alert and active now, even using that leg. Unfortunately there's a lot of tissue damage to the leg so we're trying to stave off infection, but the whole thing is shaved and its just purple and black and maroon with bruising. D: It's also still swollen but I would swear it is a tiny but smaller than before which makes me hopeful.

We have a few more vet visits to go before we're in the clear but I just hope she heals without complications, despite the killer vet bills I'm racking up.

I'm so sorry some critter took a bite at your beautiful BEAUTIFUL pooch's leg! I wish her a speedy recovery.
You last retreiver shot, for some reason, brings tears to my eyes. It's like you can really see a human / canine bond there. Makes me want to go home and play with my own pooch in the yard.

Thanks so much everyone! She is doing great, she's eating, using her leg, I'm changing the bandages out every day and giving her antibiotics and she seems to really be feeling better (could be those painkillers though!). Seems the worst is over except healing that leg up, the bite wounds are gross.

Just checking in to see how she's going. Glad it's good news. I dont know if you use raw (unpastureised) honey over there to help healing. I have some Manuka honey from New Zealand and I've had it for years. I dont eat it, I keep it to use for wounds on the dogs. You can just put in on some gauze and then bandage it on. If you can't get Manuka I am told natural unprocessed honey is good too. As long as it hasn't been heat treated.

I've never heard of using honey, the vet gave me an antibiotic cream plus pills so I put the cream on her gauze under the bandage. Thanks for the suggestion!
