G'Day All.
Spent the day at Steamfest in Maitland NSW, Australia.
Did a trip on a carriage pulled by steam engine 3801 running parrallel to sister engine 3830 during the 'tiger moth air race', between Newcatsle and Maitland. We certainly set a cracking pace :-) !
Both taken with EOS300D + Kit lens (could have done with something slightly wider).

In between short trips the engines took a breather at Maitland Station !

There was also the ubiquitous coal train, a very common sight on the lines of the Hunter Valley. Running from Maitland to newcastle, we ran parallel to a coal train for a short while, and despite being quite long and heavy, they can keep up a good speed.

Heard the whistles once or twice. Love those engines, love Richmond Vale as well. Your pix are good, where's the rest?

The rail motors were running return trips from Maitland to their home at Paterson, and other steam powered vehicles were also on display, such as these industrial engines.
