Hi,

I have got a Canon Rebel Ti (aka EOS 300V). Which flash should I use:
550ex
420ex
540ez

Need to buy one in the next couple of days.
Please help.

Bijit.

Any one of those will do but if you want to eventually move on to the digital SLRs, then stick with the EX series flashes. If you can swing it, the 550EX will provide you with a lot more features and options.

The 540EZ is good for film cameras only.

The other two are good for film or digital.

If you get a digital camera, then the 540EZ is mostly useful as a boat anchor.

Regarding the 550EX, does anyone know how to toggle between FT and M on the distant scale?

Thanks!

The Ft/M switch is in the battery compartment.

Leo, if somebody had told me that switch location a few years ago, I would have said "No Way!"

After I got mine, I found it exactly there.

I guess Canon did not want to take a chance on any user accidentally flipping it the wrong way.

LOL, Bob. Heaven forbid if that were to happen and the user ended up messing up all his flash shots from using the wrong distance unit.
