Just saw Jesse James (West Coast Choppers) on Celebrity Apprentice (don't ask :P ). He went out to take some city-scape pictures in New York with his personal camera. They had a closeup of the camera and lens at one point. His choice: Canon EOS-1D + 50mm f/1.2L (+hood).

:D

No, but he tweaked the mirror slap so it sounded like a 1500cc V-twin.

On a more serious note, city-scapes with a 50/1.2? ???

I saw that! I had to pause the TV to see his equipment. But I was a little concerned that he was carrying that thing around with no strap. I was afraid he was going to drop it.

It's a fashion statement...

My 20D and MkIII are both strapless.

Here is some photos that he did http://www.austinspeedshop.com/2009/02/24/another-day-at-the-shop/#more-187 pretty good in my opinion. Does any one know what kind of backpack/camera bag he was using?

The guy's never touched a drug in his life and has been sober for 9 years.

It's no big secret that Jesse is not only a talented gear head but an outstanding photographer too. He shoots just about all of WCC's promotional stuff including the catalog.

Nate Welch is an amazing photographer from Miami who published a book of photos on Jesse and WCC a few years ago. In a recent entry in his blog he talks a bit about Jesse's photography talent and the gear he uses. Interesting read. Check it out.

I think people are once again forgetting thats its not the gear your using but who is using the gear. I know a 1d would be out of my league as far as utilizing it like it should be used. I think he has quite a few great shots there, he has an eye for it.

Very true, but at the same time. If you have the cash, why not?

Props to the man for drying up, props to his outstanding mechanical knowledge, props to his nice camera work. LOL @ never touched a drug in his life. Who ya kidding man?

Common knowledge that WCC was started by Jesse using the cash from selling the stuff.
