85mm f/1.8

Thanks to everyone in this forum who spoke highly of the 85mm f/1.8 as a relatively inexpensive, sharp portrait and medium telephoto lens. Got mine Friday from Buydig.com and had a great weekend with it. Will post some examples on the People forum later.

You make a good investment by choosing the 85mm f1.8. It is a terrific portrait lens, unless you compare to the L lens. Only draw back now is the 1.6x factor if you are not using full frame SLR. I'm going to get the 50mm f1.4 for studio portrait due to space constrain. Enjoy.
