Just got 2 x bowens espirit gemini 500W.
I am having trouble getting both to fire together.
I can get one to fire when the sync cord is plugged into the camera from that light or to a wireless rceiver. (transmitter on camera).
I have set the photocell 'on' on 2nd light; off on 1st
or 'on' on both
but still the 2nd flash won't fire - what am I doing wrong?

Not sure about Bowens.
But I believe the built-in slave/photo cell is often disabled if you have anything plugged into the sync jack ...

ah - but then how can I get them to trigger at all - i thought my receiver needs to be attached to one of the lights?
On reading the manual (again) it says that it will be triggered by the flash from any other flash unit or a small camera flash - but I have a 5D which has no onboard camera flash.
Thought I understood it but am getting more confused
It does say that an infa red receiver can be plugged into the sync socket
Just realised - one of the lights (that wouldnt trigger) had the photocell facing a window - I blanked off the window and now the second works also - looks like that was the problem 1 :)
