A $3.4 billion purchase by Adobe in stocks. MM's stock was valued at $41.86 per share for the purchase, a 25% premium over MM's stock closing price at $33.45 per share last Friday. Adobe is gearing up for a face-off with Microsoft. It will be interesting to see the next MS Windows, which is expected to be due next year, in its ability to move files within a LAN and Internet (essentially a feature competing with the PDF file format).

It will most likely just be a new version of a word document that can be viewed on any computer. And most likely the equivalent to "Acrobat Reader" will simply be a new improved version of Microsofts Word XP Viewer. Atleast it will most likely be built on Microsoft Word Technology, with alot of enhancements. I just dont see it practical and a competitor if it doesnt get integrated into Word. Adobe is too popular.

I guess they will kill off Freehand and Fireworks. Pity, I'd just got used to the Studio MX interface, they did a really good job with it.
