Here a few pics of the Vessel. Comments are always welcome. All the pics were done with a Digital Ixus 500. No post processing at all, just resize to fit the forum specs.

Beautiful shots, Rob!

It's a pity you didn't have your 350D with you...

Best regards,
Andy

Thanks. Unfortunately, the 350D arrived a month or two after the visit... But who knows, maybe I'll get a chance to get aboard again (the Vespucci is an actual Italian Navy Vessel, operationa 100% so they do not really accept visitors often).

Actually I think that the pictures aboard the ship are very nice :D

The only one that suffers from high ISO noise is the shot of the moored craft.

Where is she based?

Best regards,
Andy

Yes, the first one suffers from the noise... limits of the little ixus... The Vespucci is based in Livorno, usually, but it does a world tour once a year (the "year opening cruise" of the Navy Academy). While abroad, its normally used as a sort of travelling embassy (you should see what it looks like inside, its gorgeous). Beside that its a standard IT Navy vessel. Of course, it will be never used in any military operation :)
