Hi

I've got LR2.3 and Photomatix Pro.

Over the weekend I took some AEB RAW files (only format I use) and am about to dabble into HDR for the first time.

I understand I can use the Photomatix LR plug-in to export the files to Photomatix.

What file format can I use and do I need to convert before I export into the HDR software?

I read that I Photomatix excepts TIFFs but although the software can render raw to TIFF, it is slow and the quality is not too good. I am not sure if the LR plug-in gives me the option to convert the 3 raw files to TIFF prior to export then exports those TIFF files automtically into Photomtix?

Any assistance would be highly apreciated.

You can just import the RAW's right into Photomatix. Do you have the latest version? Like 3.1 or better? Just import the RAWs direct into Photomatix.

I think it's 3.1, I'll check, otehrwise i'll search from the patch. Hopefully it's free.

I just drag-n-drop my RAWs straight into Photomatix and it starts from there...

Here's the download page. (http://www.hdrsoft.com/download.html#pmp) Your version will allow you to just open your RAW's in the program though. Try it. :)

When i try to imput RAW in Photomatrix, everything gets a red/pinkish hue to it. I've tried it several times on multiple pictures and same results. As soon as i convert to JPG or TIFF, it works fine. Any ideas?

Are the RAW file names ending in .cr2?

Yes. Straight from a Canon XSi.
