ok, this may have been asked already but i couldnt find anything about it.

anyway here's my question: can the camera run on just 1 battery pack in the grip or does it have to have 2?

thanks in advance! :)

I wondered the same thing but for my 450D. Bit of googling revealed that the bg-e5 for the 450D will hold just 1 battery. Just did the same for you and found that you only need 1 for the bg-e2n according to Adorama (here (http://www.adorama.com/ICABGE2N.html)).

but if you run two in it you almost never have to charge it.

Thats the truth!

Unless you are using AF servo and IS a lot, you can run a camera with 2 batteries in a grip all day with virtually no downtime and not have a problem.
