Janardan - you can sometimes coax an older or cold damselfly on to your finger. In this case it was pure luck - I spooked the damselfly and it flew up and then came down onto my left hand.

Gdane- I was using a 40D for these shots. - can only say I've seen some excellent shots with some P&S cameras esp when fitted with some of the RAynox add-on lenses. Must say though I've tried a few macros with my P&S camera and find it a lot easier with a DSLR.

The answer is very slowly and carefully - after about the 4th try I didn't spook her :)
