Every year a bunch of daffodils sprout up by the ancient city walls and I've been waiting to take this shot for ages... finally my spare time and fair weather coincided!

I found that my 28-135 just wasn't wide enough for the shot I wanted to get, but I'm so fed up with the 18-55 I didn't even bother to slap it on. Roll on the 16-35!
Hope you enjoy!

Truly brilliant! I love this. :)
Did you adjust the sky to get it looking so blue or were you just lucky with the weather?

Excellent color! I love York, got to visit there twice and would love to go back again if it wasn't for the long flight over there. :D

Many thanks once and all!
As for the sky - it was just a gorgeous morning and I had the sun at 90 degrees to my left. As soon as I get a polarising filter I'll try again...
I tell you what - as much as this city needs tourists, they don't half get in the way when I'm trying to walk through town ;)

Aliflack,
I like the shot!
I hope you realize that the rebate booklet you can request at www.canonextrapromotion.com also includes a 70 GBP voucher for the 17-40/4.0 L
Best regards,

Great shot. It's great when you plan out a shot for months and then it all comes together. You should hang this one on your wall.

I bought my 300d last year, so it doesn't look like I qualify for the rebate...unless I'm missing something??

Wow that is nice...I don't even think the sky gets that blue down here in Atlanta, GA.

Lovely Shot. Great angle. Nice sky. I used to go to York a lot before I was a photographer and this has sparked my memory of the places I have been too. Need to head back now with my camera.

Yes, you do
I just received my booklet that I ordered from the website.
I also bought my 20D at the beginning of the year.
So why not try it out?
A word of warning though ...
that booklet also includes vouchers for the 70-200/4.0, the 300/4.0 IS, the 580 EX ...talk about temptation
Best regards,
Andy

corker! I'll see if it works...it'll be an early birthday present if it does :)
already got the 580ex so that's not too tempting for me, the 70-200 on the other hand...
