View Full Version : 400mm f/5.6L with 1.4x extender - example shots

Took the 400mm 5.6L prime out after work today and I must say I was really impressed with the results when combined with a 1.4x extender. Here's a couple of sample shots with 100% crops. Shot RAW, handheld, all f8, ISO640 and apart from resizing are untouched. Used the 1DMk2 so AF was enabled.

Impressive picture of the church clock, Paul!
(supposing of course that it is located on the french shore, some 20 kilometers away from Guernsey) :D

The lens is sharp even attached with extender. Would be very best if Canon produces an IS version.
