I recently shoot a cycling event as a hobby, I posted some of my shot on my flickr account and some of the cyclist contacted and asked me if they could buy a print or digital copy of some of the pictures.I'm not sure how much to charge them, is $10 per high res digital copy too much ? I print a 8x10 copies with my hp photosmart 8250 printer but not sure whats the right price. can someone give me an idea if the print is better than the digital copy. 2 sample of the picture they wanted.

For high res files, I charge what I would make on a large print. IOW, if they can print a 20x30 from the file, I'll charge for a 20x30 minus the printing cost. Basically, I try to use pricing to encourage people to buy the print because I can control the output and it's more difficult to reproduce. If they want a low res digital file for web/viewing, I'm happy to sell that as well.

i sell low res at 20, medium res at 40, and full res (21 mp) at 75. This is for personal use only, as many prints for yourself as you like. it's in a contract you have to agree to. For commercial use its a wholeeee different price range
