Hey everyone,

some of you might remember my first slideshow on NYC: Link (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=658226)

As I promised I made another one.
This time without the original sound of the streets but with music.

It's not like a trip through whole Manhattan like the first one was. It's more like a evening trip on some special places.

I really really hope you like it.
I'd love to see as much comments, opinions and suggestions like in the other thread.

Hope you enjoy watching.. let me know what you think:

Sebastian I enjoyed it very much. And thanks for posting the link to your first one. I never saw that one until now and to tell you the truth I like it even better! The natural sounds really set the mood. What did you use to record the sound?

Hey Stan,

thanks for your thoughts.
I kinda knew that some would like the first slideshow more than the second one, because of the unique sound in the first. ;)

I recorded the sound with my dads little point n' shoot camera. It's the Canon Powershot something... can't remember. But it has this video mode. So I just took the sound out of the videos and put it on the slideshow... that's pretty much all I did.

I hope that helps and I'm looking forward to some more thoughts of you guys.

Thanks for your help.
Sebastian

This is an excellent slideshow. I did see version 1 when you posted it a few weeks ago and enjoyed that very much as well. Your images of the city are great!

The only real suggestion I have would be to speed up the beginning as it is a little bit "slow." The first image appears for a pretty long time, followed by a very long segment of black before the next image. It looks like you were timing the appearance of the 2nd image to the soundtrack, which I can understand, but I think you may have gotten a better effect by shortening the duration of the 1st image, then adding in one or two more images in that span of time. So where you have currently have Image #1....Black.....Image #2, you might instead do Image #1...fade-to-black...Image#2...fade-to-black...Image #3....and then time the following images/transitions to the soundtrack with dissolves - similar to what you have currently.

the photos are great. nothing bad to say there.
you couldve put a better Soundtrack..it sounded like the beginning to a 9/11 documentary.
kinda of freaked me and the people at work out

I liked the first slideshow a little better (you're competing against yourself) but this is good too.

Hey Tiger, thanks for you suggestions.
I'm glad you like this one too.

You're right. It's pretty "slow" at the beginning. But I tried to go with the music. Otherwise it'd lose it's special character.
It's hard to find some music that fits into a slideshow about NYC. It took me some time to find this song. I'm glad I found it.

I'm sorry for that, mate.
I didn't wanted to freak you guys out, didn't thought about that while making the slideshow.
Like I mentioned above, it was hard to find a piece of music that fits to the photos of NYC.
I thought I found a good one in this. But if you or someone else can recommend another soundtrack, let me know.

Yep I know I'm competing against myself. I always try to push myself to the next level. Sometime I succeed, sometimes not.

But I'm glad you like this one too. :)

Again, thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts.
I'm happy about ever single opinion.

Let me know what you think.. slideshow #1 oder slideshow #2 .. what works better for you?

Thanks for your help.

Both slideshows were really good. I dont know which one I like better. I agree with most that the intro was a tad slow, but other than that it was really great. I really liked how you zoomed in on some of the pictures before showing the real photo, I think it gave it a unique feeling. My favorite photo has to be the one with the selective colouring.

Keep it up, I loved both of them :D.

^^ That is by far my favorite one.
The wide angle shots from Brooklyn Bridge were a close second. Great snaps!

 Thanks a lot. :)
I was sure before if that one would be good enough to put it in the slideshow. It was my first try with the red colored streets.

I'm glad you like it that much.

Thank you! This was wonderful. Great shots, the mood of the music fit the evening theme perfectly IMHO. I enjoyed the first one when you posted it originally. Keep posting your NY pictures, please!
