Unfortunately, I know I cut off the right tip of the duck's wing. Aside from that what other critiques do you have about this picture?

Here are the settings:
Focal length: 200 m
Exposure time: 1/2000
ISO: 100
Aperature: f/2.8

Thanks in advance!

Hey There,

Nice timing with this shot!!!
The focal point looks a little off to me.
@F/2.8 it looks like the focal point needs to be a little closer to you so that from the ducks bill, all the way to the wing tips are in focus.
The wings edges are super in focus and look great!
My eye gets a little distracted by the foreground water too.

I am a n00b though!

Keep up the good work!

I agree maybe a different f-stop would add to this shot... Is the duck in your swimming pool?

Thanks for all the responses. I will try a higher f-stop next time.

The duck flew into the swimming pool at the hotel I was staying at. =)

I would say 2.8 is too wide on 200mm for birds, when i shoot at 400 i shot at basically f8. So at least f4 for 200mm maybe even 5 or 5.6

Other than the soft head, it certainly lives up to its billing... the benefits of having lights and higher reflectivity under the water - looks great! Cheers, Tony
