hello
on the same subject, after seeing georgees 'storm cloud in may 'shot which is beautiful

http://www.pbase.com/image/10116146

just thought the little pink blob here is unusual even in all conditions which one may see over the year ?

and here just to to show the complete change in colour of the cloud formation after taking the shots within three minures of each other
unusual for the colour to change back again ?
(after the second shot
when the sun was sinking fast)

Marie,

Happy New Year!!

Loved your colorful sky shots! At that twilight time it is really amazing how quick the scenery will change as the sun rises or sets!! Sometimes, the delay of the buffer writing to the flash card will afford wonderful developments in the panoramic sky views. I personally love to watch those changes and pop the shutter at just the right time!!
Keep up the wonderful work Marie!

If you get a chance, check out these!

Marie,

I like your "light in darkness" picture. It just has this feeling...... I am a landscape and wildlife photographer and that pictue appeals to me because of the mountains and the sun breaking through. You can't see any man made objects in the picture either.

How do you like your G2? I have one showing up any day. I can't wait.

Hello Wayne

many thanks
I took those sky shots in that particular lot you mention near a busy road by a shopping centre in county dublin , not too far from here ,about 25 miles
the traffic was roaring very close behind me
and I had my camera bag perched on a 'middle of the road' hedge growth.
there was a very very cold wind blowing but, as usual blessings abound with any 'chill factor' so the wind added to the cloud movement
I was trying to get man made objects out of the picture and waited and waited for the sun to be in the right place at the right time
and, thread lightly here and don't tell anyone but... I talked to the clouds to please move over slightly to the left
please please ...... waited and waited
and they thankfully obliged !
Those standard light posts in the other shot, were all over the place.
they are nice there too
bit like something from outer space ( :

I wanted the shot and the moody sky without them.
and always thank nature because even if I didn't get a decent shot I enjoyed the sights very much anyway
I was changing camera's (as I am more or less testing both , to compare them with each other, I have the casio over a year )
and my fingers froze up a little rooting in the bags for this one and then that ,without a car driving me into the hedge

yes I got a g2 (in London)
I still use the casio camera mostly as when I installed the zoombrower which comes with the canon g2 things all didn't happen as easy as it seemed to say
I didn't get much time to work on it all yet and just leave it for now
then of course things didn't work for any camera memory card downloading , so much that I uninstalled the zoom .......whatever its called
(that installed ok but stated something else had to be done and it didn't do it
sorry but I forget 'what' just now, its a while since I even looked at all what the manual says,
needs a lot of concentration)
I even got a compact flash card reader at the time I bought the g2
and for some reason that refuses to install the cd which came with it . no display at all from that

So, for the moment I use both cameras sometimes and take the memory card out of the canon g2 ,when I have a few photos , and put it into the casio camera and use the photoloader for the casio to download all the pictures from the canon g2 onto the computer.
phew, and you think its bad 'reading' about it just : )))

(its no bother really..doing it )

cont.....
thats after I download the memory card with the casio pictures first ...
even had to reinstall my scanner after the canon 'installation' as it wouldn't work then either.

I would like all working ok but not sure both systems will work together on the computer as now my cam camera is not working either
but that is not as important, at all
(got a present of that a few years ago)
I may have to completely uninstall that eventually
maybe its affecting the other
however I would wish for all to be compatible and just get on with it.
it will take time to work it out and see whats happening.
makes one half afraid to install anything new , in case something else goes off beam

the casio digital camera photoloader was no bother to install, at all
the trouble with the way I am using the memory cards now , all of the info data which come with the pictures , taken with the g2 canon sureshot , is not being relayed to the computer because I am using casio photoloader for the canon shots
the casio camera data was no bother from the start, all displayed fine after its installation over a year ago

Doing it like this the canon works to a certain degree
otherwise I wouldn't have any canon shots info at all showing up on the computer without using the casio photoloader system for the moment
Hopefully will sort it out when I can
( is there enough time left I ask myself : ))))
don't like things half done , or half working

By the way. wanted to say after your reply in your other post that I am delighted you intend getting your beautiful black tusk mountain picture framed and enlarged.
def. the cost will be worth it
good luck with all your pictures
Hope to see more

bet you are sorry now that you mentioned the g2 to me in your post : )
should be ok for you, no worries at all
it will be for me too , eventually

(I have only to look at don's shots and web site to get encouragement ........ and I do : )
http://www.kleptography.com/ )

very best of luck

Marie,

I, like Wayne, loved the "Light in Darkness" photo. The composition is great. You captured so many feelings, even thought it was cold, the ambiance is warm & fuzy (a good thing!).

AMEN to the "Amen" in your sunset Kildare photo, also has a spiritual air to it! All of them are nice!

Thanks for the kind comments on my sky pics folder! I do work offshore in the Gulf of Mexico on a Production Platform. I have several folders displaying where I work and views of the "steel" we live on. Check it out through my homepage I-con. This environment offers me opportunities for some interesting sunrise-sky-sunset photo shoots, I just have to be ready when the Lord displays "His" compositions!!

I have owned a Canon Pro90IS for the past several months (love it!). I know once you have the G2 up and running we are going to see more wonderful photography from you!

Take Care,

Ted

many thanks for the comments on the 'light and darkness' shot (and others) here on this post ted
I love it too with all its faults (if any or many : )
its a bit special to me

sounds like your camera is loved much
thats the main and a most important thing ,
once we get a good 'feel' for the camera whatever type it be, we are happier using it and so taking photos

best wishes

marie
