I posted that shot earlier of the weirdness with the guy disappearing in Dale Earnhart Jr's garage... well I have been rummaging through the shots and everything the 10-22 did I think it did well. Here's another Nascar racer waiting by his car just before the race, taken just in front of him a 10mm. I haven't applied any post-camera USM, etc.
Nothing too crazy, but I think it's a good display of the lenses sharpness at various areas of the frame.

Damn sharp. I can see the guy standing beneath the display board in the blue shirt. What were the settings?

Actually that was 1/1000 at only f6.3! The DOF looks more like F11+ to me, but the lens just does a great job. Handheld of course (at 1/1000 why not!) and all shots that day were ISO200.

Damn I am jealous, I would love to get that kind of access to a Nascar race
It is an awesome lens for sure.

Some of my other shots are at http://www.adamhicksphoto.com (click the race car and go from there... the thumbnails take you to a medium version, which you can click for a larger one) if you like the Nascar stuff.. mostly driver shots right now, but I'm adding cars over the next day or two. Or if you have any requests let me know. There's about 1,100 shots from the weekend. And yes, I had access to anything I wanted ;)
Take care,

Of course your can! The 10-22 is damn near twice as wide. Everybody needs a true wide angle in their gadget bag.:)

Luminous Landscape says that between f5.6 and f8 is by far the optimum. I try to hit between those numbers or go wide open
here is the chart again if anyone cares (lower #'s - better sharpness)
