Yes, I agree, and the irony is that I've lived in NY all my life.

It was moreover me testing out my new 5D MKII than anything else...

The funny thing is, when you live somewhere for so long and you walk the streets, you feel like a tourist b/c I never walk the streets like a tourist unless I am shooting street!

Wait...what did I just say?

;)

Touristy......yeah, I am a New Yorker and would avoid taking shots like a tourist at all cost....:) BTW, I like the brick building shot. BTW, have you tried to use a wide angle lens for street photography? I find that "subject isolation" isn't important with street photography.

Nice. I've lived here long enough to identify where you took those shots but I can still say ... nice.

NYC is a tourist spot...what can I say?

Besides, you take what you can get. Sometimes you get a lot, sometimes you get nothing.

It also largely depends on what route you take walking. My office is close to Central Park on the south side, so there ya go!

Hmmm...so what oozes NYC?

Shots of homeless people?
The East River and Hudson River crossings?
Tall buildings?
Time Square?
Buses and subway stations?
Broadway?
Yankee Stadium?
Random shots of random people?
Ground Zero?
Statue of Liberty?
Top of the Rock?
Empire State Building?
Central Park?

I'm sure most of you would say "Been there...done that".

The 1st picture looks like Columbus Circle (Central Park South) and the last one looks like a building on 56th or 57th Street near 7th Ave.

The 1st picture was taken by the Central Park entrance on the south side by 6th Ave.

The last building...yep...amazing how you recognized it. 56th between 6th and 7th ave.

So true and so true. Homeless people? No, I just couldn't bare myself doing that. Trying to capture the despair in a big city?? I bet very few of us can do abandoned building shots..since most of these places are off limited to most people.
