Let me know what you of think of yours and why you choose that specific bag?

also, i'd like to know what you think of it's comfort, durability etc.

I'm looking forward to getting one, muy pronto.

For me the bigger the better. :D

Budgie Smuggler.
Easily carries a 300D, 17-40 (with hood) and 85 1.8 (with hood) as well as the usual extras. Very well built, well padded, sturdy, and well designed. Camera is easily accessible but protected. Basically a great sholder bag for everyday use when I don't want to carry much stuff.

Crumpler is awesome. A tad expensive, but awesome. I don't have their camera bags (even though I should invest in one, they don't look like them at all ;)) but I do have one for my laptop. Rugged.

The build quality is good, but it's rugged for sure. Very rough. Stylish too hehe. I'm thinking of picking up a bigger and better camera bag to hold my stuff hehe.

It doesn't look like a camera bag, which is a big plus for me!
Next Venue is the model
I'll let the pictures tell the story...

I just my crumpler yesterday, i got the next venue and it is wicked. I have my 20D with 28-135 and a 17-40 and my 70-200 in the chamber of secrets. This is the best bag i have come across and it is built extremely well.

But that's the 'third leg' strap for ?

You know the one, the strap thats attached to the bags main strap near the padding. It's got one of those plastic plugs on the end, but no matter how I wear the bag, i don't know where to connect it

i got myself a Crumpler "Formal Lounge" about a month ago and i absolutely adore it
it looks kindof big but it's not and it holds a ton (i'm 5'2" and it's not too much for me)

there are two sections
the top section has a back slot for laptop/notebooks, etc. and another shorter area up front for whatever (mine holds wallet, cell phone, iPod, etc.)
the bottom section is designed for the camera and comes with removable velcro dividers. big enough for camera w/ lens attached and two standard size lenses (i just have my camera w/ lens, second lens, and filters and other accessories in mine)

the front of the bag also has two decent sized pockets where i keep cleaning supplies, manual (since i'm still learning to use the camera), extra battery for laptop, battery charger for camera, etc.

i LOVE this bag because it holds so much but doesn't hurt my back

this bag is perfect for anyone who wants to be able to bring their laptop with them
i am a photography student and i go to school about an hour away from where i live so i was already living out of my bag for the better part of the day and then i got this camera (20D) and i wanted to make sure it was protected
i don't always take my laptop with me but there's plenty of room for me to take some reading material and school supplies with me

it's a great bag for me

Budgie Smuggler owner here. Next to my camera, this is one of the best investments I have made. Not only is the bag extreeeeemely sturdy and durable, but as mentioned before, it looks nothing like a camera bag, and it has nice space on the inside. Its got moveable slots that stick to the inside of the bag like glue, plus you can buy extra small Crumpler containers that adapt right to the sides of the bag so you dont have to upgrade if you run out of room.
I love this bag.

Didn't want to start a seperate thread but does anyone know if the Brian's Hot Tub model will fit on airplanes as a carry-on? This is my biggest concern. I'm eyeballing the Formal Lounge also.

i just got back from a store where i checked out some crumpler bags.

while i like the way they look and i like the way they are laid out on the inside, i wasn't at all impressed with the shoulder strap. i checked out the Talle, the 15 Love and a few others.

first off, if you tighten it up so that it sits higher on your body, you're left with a giant loop of strap visible. i asked someone at the store if there was some trick i was missing, they said nope, there's a loop. there were also some misc straps dangling loose that i had a no idea what they were for. i imagine i could cut down the strap to fit me.

i also wished it had a short handle strap on top in case you wanted to carry it neatly in your hand...lowe has this on some of their bags.

i liked the colors and the amount of space and the ability to custom design the space to meet your needs (with the removeable walls). but the strap was really off-putting.

i am probably going to get one, just not sure yet. i'd love to hear what others think of the strap.

I am looking at a Crumpler as well, but would like some advice about which one to buy. I have a dRebel XT, a Canon 28-135, a 50mm 1.4, and the 18-55 kit lense. I have an assortment of CF cards, the battery charger, and an extra battery. I would like a bag which holds all of this with a little extra room to spare in preparation of a future lense purchase, possibly the 70-200 f/4 L.

I have the Next Venue model as well but also have a Tamrac bag that can hold both Canon boxes I have, all four lenses, flash and iPod and card reader (for downloading pics off memory cards). Oh...not to mention compartments for batteries, battery charger, notebook, pen, etc., etc. Sounds like a lot, but the bag is light weight - even with the equipment in it.

I use the Venue bag when I don't need all of my equipment. I like the thick over the shoulder strap and it's easy access to everything while it's over your shoulder. The Tamrac bag is used when I am on shoots for the high school school I work for. I also have a smaller, over the shoulder bag that will hold one Canon box and two lenses - very lightweight and good for hiking, walking, etc.

So basically, one bag doesn't suit me...the situation dictates which bag I use.

i've been looking at Crumpler for some time . . . and the reason why I haven't gotten one yet is because I can never get the darn names remembered. WHAT ON EARTH IS IT WITH CRUMPLER AND THE NAMES OF THEIR BAGS?!?!?! it's so hard to figure out what sizes are bigger/smaller than others by just looking at the name . . . is there a "code" to these names that I'm not figuring out???

HAHAHAHA.....I felt the same way. I was so turned off by the names and the website b/c it confused me, but after researching the bags for a couple of days, I kinda memorized the size order in my head, and order myself a Budgie Smuggler.....now I am just waiting for the new line to come out ;)

Jupiter,
Do you think that the Budgie Smuggler could hold a 300D, 70-200/f4, nifty 50, 550ex, and a 28-75?
If it can looks like I found a new bag for me.

By the way what color did you order?

on their website (www.crumplerbags.com (http://www.crumplerbags.com)) even the explanation of the names don't make any sense . . . some of them have to be rated PG-13 (Budgie Smuggler & 15 Love) i'll tell ya . . . their website does not do the products any justice . . . if I hadn't heard good things about these bags, the website and names alone would have just turned me off them.

I ordered black. I fit my XT, 28-135, 50 1.8, kit lens and charger, plus batteries/CF cards, etc. I honestly have not seen seen the lenses you listed in person, so I have know idea of the size, I'll try and take pictures tommorrow so you can get some idea of the size of the interior, but I am pretty sure that you will not be able to fit all that stuff.

i have quite a few crumplers: tallee, schrinkle, december quarter, and some for my laptop. i use differernt ones for different trips (you can see photos of what i carry in them in some of the other crumpler threads). i went to the melbourne crumpler store two days hoping to see their new gear (you can see some of the new ones on the australian website) but they hadn't sent it out to the stores, yet. i'll probably go to the sydney store on monday.

Just for the record 15 Love doesn't need a PG-13 rating, it's a tennis score.

I have a Steamer, which is about the same size as the Budgie Smuggler (a bit older I think). It was just perfect when I had a 300D with 18-55 kit lens and 50 mm f/1.4, as it also holds a spare battery, two extra CF cards, a Circular Polarizer, and a lens cleaning cloth.

I'm selling it now, as the lenses I use most often are a bit too big. Here's my post in the Marketplace:
http://photography-on-the.net/forum...ead.php?t=72557

And here are some pics, including one with the 20D (with 50mm f/1.4 attached):

If anyone is interested in a small Crumpler bag in black with blue trim, let me know.

An absolutely great bag just as the seller described. But, The bag is not what I thought it would be. I thought for one it would be softer and I did not realize the straps are not on the top edges allowing it to be worn ok on the shoulder. I will put it up on EBay tonight or tomorrow.

I've got a Shrinkle backpack that I bought second hand on fleaBay. I couldn't find it new anywhere and love the color scheme of it. It houses my 20d w/ 70-200 f4 IS attached and hood reversed, 17-40 w/ hood reversed, 50 1.4 and 18-55 hit lens. I also keep 3 CF cards, 2 batteries, charger and rocket blower in it. Its an awesome bag.

I also have a 4MDH that I use to carry my camera with 17-40 attached, or I use the divider and carry it with 2 lenses inside when I travel light.

Between the two bags, I've got all my needs covered. Crumpler makes a great product and I feel honored to post in a 2 year old thread. :-P

I purchased the Daily 600 today, needed something to carry kit across to the states on vacations. Fits all kit, including the Bigma, still have room for another couple of lenses. What i find amazing is that Crumpler have produced a bag within a bag, lots of pockets for nik naks and accessories and i can still fit my notebook in there too. I'm completely chuffed with my new bag.

Yeah I just got a daily 750 and was rather surprised at the size of it and how much it'll actually take, It probably would have been a better idea for me to have gotten a slightly smaller one. Since I can carry all the below gear plus have space for flash, laptop, another 3-4 lenses and loads more in it.

I've also got a pretty boy XXXL but that's too small for what I want to use it for, so will be selling it soon.

It attaches part way along the main strap and onto the fixing on the bottom corner of your bag.

The idea is that when the bag's worn pretty high this strap can go parallel and under your arm thereby holding the bag tighter to your back. It's mainly designed for cycling but also running. I don't bother with the 3rd leg on mine.

I've got a 4 million dollar home in black. I usually carry my xti with 17-40L or 100mm macro attached. The lens that isn't being used gets put in the side slot. If I need to carry my 50 f1.8 I usually put it on top of whichever lens I'm not using. Now that I have a 70-200 f4 I'm thinking of upgrading to the 6 million dollar home. I've also got a Crumpler Keystone backpack coming in the mail soon :D. I'm an addict.
